Latett Duo

Lauren Basney, Violinist - Eliran Avni, Pianist

The word "latett" in Hebrew, means "to give." When violinist Lauren Basney and pianist Eliran Avni met, both were students at The Juilliard School, with independent solo careers. They realized that they both believed the purpose of performance is to offer something of the performer's own experience as a means of communication between performer and audience. As a result, they decided to form the Latett Duo in 1999. Since its formation, the Duo has been an active chamber ensemble performing throughout the United States. Their performances include recitals in Michigan and New York, several concerts with the Willow Chamber Players, and attendance at the Hampden-Sydney Music Festival in Virginia. Future engagements include performances in Israel, where they have been invited to play on the Israel Broadcasting System. The Latett Duo has worked with such renowned artists as Jonathan Feldman, Yoheved Kaplinsky, Jerome Lowenthal, Ronald Feldman, and Stephen Clapp.
